3rd Period

With 7:18 remaining in the game each squad
is exchanging shots, and the goalies are
exchanging saves

This is a chess-match with nothing but pawns moving about on the ice with .53 left in the game

With .16 left on the clock Hill Murray had a spectacular chance to win the game but Minnetonka goalie Jim Kruger found a surprise of a stopped puck in his goalies catcher

We are going to overtime!  Shots 24-9 Hill-Murray.  Minnetonka has had only 3 shots on net the last 2 periods.  Who is the #1 team in the state?

Overtime

Minnetonka goalie Jim Kruger= Minnetonka's
MVP of this game!

Hill-Murray is coming in waves and appears to
be stifiling Minnetonka with each play here in
the 4th period

.54 seconds left in OT Hill appears to be THE
much stronger team here

We are going to period 5.  Shots 30-15 Hill

Double Overtime

This is turning out to be an EPIC game and one of the better State Tourney games we have witnessed in recent history live.  The Zamboni's hit the ice for a quick resurface before the start of double OT.   Minnetonka needs to re-group in the locker room and lick their wounds for 15 minutes before the start of the 5th period!  Hill-Murray always seems to "find a way".

On a 2 on 1 Minnetonka wins....wait it was deemed as being "kicked in" NO goal...Sudden death continues

Minnetonka is breathing new life, and appears to have found a case of "5 hour energy" in the X-Cel locker-room as the 15 minute resurface must have done them some good...Or a good "tongue lashing" by Coach Urick.

Tonka's "D-Men" have really tightened up in the defensive zone here in period 5

There is more people in the Xcel tonight than most recent Minnesota Wild games.  High School hockey is Minnesota and Minnesota is High School hockey.

"Icing".... get your icing here" The game is starting to slow as the teams appear more and more tired with each shift.  Each goalie is standing on their head and turning away everything.

NO PENALTIES IN THE ENTIRE GAME. FIVE PERIODS OF NO PENALTIES...The ref's are "letting 'em play" some good old Vintage Minnesota Hockey.

At the end of double overtime shots are inching closer with Hill leading 38-24.  We are headed to the 6th period!

Triple Overtime

Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth

With 2:55 and 2:10 left in the 6th period Minnetonka had a series of spectacular chances only to yet again be turned away by Hill-Murray Junior goaltender Tim Shaughnessy.

We have a feeling that this game is going to be won by a "flukey" goal as each squad has tightened ship.  We are going into period #7 after another resurface.  Shots 43-27 Hill-Murray.

It is now Saturday the 13th at 12:05.  The winner of this game will play another game- Tonight, Saturday the 13th at 7:30 PM vs. Edina for the right to be called  AA State Champions.

Quadruple Overtime

At 14:29 of the 7th period lightning struck at the Xcel.  Junior forward Erik Baskin circles the net and sneaks the puck around the outstretched pads of HM goaltender Tim Shaughnessy to "seal-the-deal" for Minnetonka.  Minnetonka will face Edina later tonight at 7:00PM.  It should be a great classic-lake match-up as Edina is the ONLY team this season to hand the Skippers a loss.  One in which Vintage Minnesota Hockey was in attendance for at historic Braemar arena.

Final Score:

Minnetonka 2
Hill-Murray 1 (4th OT)

Shots 43-29 Hill-Murray
